Dear Sirs, I am putting a basket case 71 Chevy C-10 back together. The alternator wire harness has 4 wires, I assume the heavy one is the output and goes to the biggest post, the smaller one is a ground, and goes to the ground post. It also has 2- spade connectors, one is on a blue wire, and the other is on a white wire. The GM Delco-Remy cs alternator was used on GM vehicles from about was a transitional period for the cs Between those years you may have the CS or the CSD alternator. The wiring hookup is the same for the CS and CSD alternators. Converting to a Delco 3 wire alternator. If you jump the no.2 wire to the batt wire on the back of the alternator, it will work, but you are setting up a chronic low charge condition. The number 2 terminal is used to sense system voltage, and if it is seeing 12.5 volt at the alternator it shuts it down, when the rest of the system may be seeing only 11.8.Chevy Alternator Wiring Diagram - 1970 chevy alternator wiring diagram, 1980 chevy alternator wiring diagram, 1985 chevy alternator wiring diagram, Every electric arrangement consists of various distinct parts. Available in a variety of finishes,...Installing a one-wire GM alternator makes the process of adding an alternator to a vehicle originally equipped with a generator very simple. One-wire alternators are also used by people in the performance car field to help make the car lighter as there are fewer wires to add weight to the vehicle. Step 1The only drawback to using a one-wire alternator in GM vehicles has to do with the ALT warning lamp (idiot light) on the dash. A one-wire alternator doesn't use the two-wire connector which supplies electrical current to facilitate use of the idiot light. The two-wire connector houses the exciter wire, which is responsible for turning off the

GM CS130 Series Internal Regulated Alternator Wiring
Wiring instructions for the GM Delco Remy internally regulated CS130 alternator. The GM Delco-Remy cs130 alternator used to be used on GM vehicles from about 1986-1996. 1995 -1998 was a transitional duration for the cs-130. Between the ones years you'll have the CS-A hundred thirty or the CS-130D alternator. The wiring hookup is identical for the CS-One hundred thirty and CS-130D alternators. On both the CS-A hundred thirty and CS-130D alternators must have a resisted ignition cord to the "L" terminal. Resistance will also be obtained thru use af a resistor or you can use the no charge mild because the resistor, the light bulb will provide proper resistance. Caution: in case you connect a full 12 volts to the "L" terminal without the resistor it is going to cause the voltage regulator to fail
