Last week, I made my daughter a knot get dressed for Valentine’s Day. I also wanted to make my son one thing to put on for his Valentine’s birthday party. (He likes to dressing in a “preppy” style- he’s best in 2d grade, however he already knows what the little girls like!)
I requested him if he sought after to wear a bow tie to university on Valentine’s Day. I advised him it might have Velcro at the back so it could be simply removed. He favored the theory, so I set to work…
The authentic version I made, used to be somewhat small in my view, so I remade it in a rather larger model better suited to a 6 to thirteen year old. (The smaller version is the one he wore in our Valentine’s day pictures, the principle photo above is the larger version.)

Step 5: Put the bow tie all together.
Use a safety pin and thread the strap during the loop at the back of the bow. (It will have to be comfortable.)
Cut a your Velcro into about 3/Four to one inch pieces. You will want the scratchy side of the Velcro to stand out.
Attach the scratchy Velcro piece to the strap on the aspect with the completed edge. You can hand or gadget stitch the Velcro in place. (I got lazy and used hot glue, it adheres really well for those who don’t let it cool too much ahead of attaching it to the fabric.)
Hold the bow tie in position and mark the place to place the second piece of Velcro.
Fold the unfinished edge in the place you marked it and stitch along the threshold to near the outlet.
Attach the second one piece of Velcro and you're done! Isn’t it lovely?Elementary-age-sized bow tie. (my son is a median sized 8 year old in this photograph.)
