A fourth option, Shorten Session, Increase Pay should have been offered.
Only people without a structured job and those with personal wealth can serve now. Even shortening the session would not open the legislature up to those with structured jobs, but perhaps it would empower more homemakers and middle-income small business owners to serve (particularly with the higher pay component).

problem is, when the salary is increased, you automatically increase the salary of all former (no longer serving), current retirements and is taxpayer subsidized. The current and former should be frozen at current levels and and no retirement increase granted to any, even the new ones. The taxpayers should not have to subsidize these retirements!
